I am over the moon with my ice cream churner! I have been experimenting with different recipes to get the perfect texture. So far the recipes I find in really old cookbooks work the best. Simple ingredients: fruit milk cream eggs and sugar. I only used the motor once. It works but it takes longer for the ice cream to set. And it gets hot. I prefer the hand crank, that's why I bought this machine. If I'm going to be eating iCECREAM I should burn some of the calories churning it. It doesn't take long and is not hard. The metal parts squeak a lot so if that is a problem for you don't buy a hand crank churner. Don't skimp on the salt , it goes much faster. I thoroughly rinse out the salt from all the parts after each use so I hope this machine will last a long time. I hope this company will in the future make available replacement parts that might wear out with use. The plastic gear parts... If you love homemade iCECREAM this is so worth it .
